Our team at Taschner Periodontics warmly welcomes our patients every day and is committed to helping our patients achieve optimum oral health.
Every team member embraces the Taschner Periodontics philosophy of providing the highest quality periodontal and dental implant care in a warm and friendly environment, treating each patient with the attention and respect they deserve.
Our front office team or “welcoming committee” will greet you with a warm smile when you call or come into the office. They will help you with your appointments, your insurance and payment arrangements, and will gladly answer any questions you may have or direct you to other team members who can more adequately address your needs.
Our clinical team consists of knowledgeable and caring dental hygienists, nurses, and dental assistants, who, along with the doctors, are all committed to providing individualized, quality, periodontal, dental implant, and preventive care in a gentle, calm and safe environment. They will be “by your side” during your care to help the doctor, and to make sure you are comfortable, informed, and relaxed.
Mary, Treatment Coordinator
Mary originally joined our practice in 1988 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. After relocating from Miami, she re-joined the practice in 2010 as our Treatment Coordinator. She is responsible for assisting patients with the sequencing of treatment, making financial arrangements and coordinating patients’ treatment.
Her background in Dental Hygiene enables her to communicate with patients and referring offices efficiently and compassionately. Over the years, she has developed a close relationship with the local dentists and their staff.
She also is a part-time clinical instructor at Florida Southwestern University Dental Hygiene Program.
Mary came to Fort Myers Beach in 1965. When away from the office, she enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Marie, Administrative Assistant
Marie has been with Taschner Periodontics since 1989; she handles HR issues and business administration.
She is originally from Pittsburgh, PA where most of her family resides.
Marie loves to cook; baking is a particular interest of hers. She enjoys reading and gardening as well.
She is a mother of two and grandmother of two as well with another expected in the spring!
Kelly, Dental Assistant
Kelly joined Taschner Periodontics in 1987 as a Licensed Practical Nurse and obtained her certification as a Dental Assistant shortly after.
Her responsibilities include assisting the doctors chairside and overseeing the ordering and purchasing of all surgical supplies for the practice.
Kelly plays a pivotal role in coordinating periodontal and implant therapy for our patients. Her 29 years in our practice shows her dedication and commitment to patient care.
Kelly, originally from Clearwater, FL, has two children and one grandson. She enjoys exercising, cooking and the outdoors.
Jane, Dental Assistant
Jane has been a Dental Assistant with Taschner Periodontics since 1994. She has a total of 35 years of dental experience, 22 of which are in the field of periodontal and implant surgery.
Her extensive background in dentistry began in Boston where she worked as a surgical assistant at New England Medical Center. Jane strives to make patients feel comfortable and at ease with her kind and heartfelt personality.
Jane was born in Massachusetts, raised in Peabody, MA, and has lived in Fort Myers since 1992. Jane is the proud mother of two sons, enjoys outdoor activities and time with family.
Kristen, Appointment Coordinator
Kristen moved to Cape Coral from St. Louis, MO. in 2020. Before joining the Taschner Periodontics team, Kristen worked in pediatric dental offices. Kristen is enjoying her life in Florida with her husband and two cats. Kristen enjoys days at the beach, cooking, decorating, watching the St. Louis, Cardinals, and the St. Louis Blues.
Jessica, Registered Dental Hygienist
Jessica joined Taschner Periodontics in 2020 as a dental hygienist. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and Palm Beach State College and has been a dental hygienist since 1996.
Jessica’s dental experience began in her father’s dental office where she worked as a dental assistant during high school and college. Jessica enjoys practice in periodontics and feels this area of dentistry has seen exciting advances in treatment options with laser therapy for bone regeneration and grafting to restore gum and bone. The concept that all dental treatment is preventive and that we can keep our teeth a lifetime is Jessica’s practice philosophy.
Along with her passion for dentistry, Jessica loves ballroom dance, enjoys landscaping, and fitness. She is active in support of Cypress Lake High School Athletics.
She lives in Fort Myers with her husband David and their two dogs and dozens of bonsai trees.
Rebekah, Certified Dental Assistant(CDA)
Rebekah joined Taschner Periodontics in 2021 after leaving a prestigious periodontal practice in Westchester County, N.Y.
Rebekah has been a surgical assistant since 2000.
She is knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of periodontics.
Rebekah originally comes from Bronx, N.Y and moved to Lee County in 2021.
She is also fluent in Spanish. She loves spending time with her family and her dogs, but when given the chance, she is always ready to travel.
Michelle, Certified Dental Assistant(CDA)
Michelle Joined Taschner Periodontics in 2022.
Michelle uses her 33 years experience in dentistry to provide her patients with a greater understanding of the team approach to periodontal treatment and restorative care.
Michelle strives to be caring and compassionate to all walks of life.
Michelle was born in Long Island N.Y and has lived in Florida for forty years.
She has two children; as well as three grandchildren.
Michelle enjoys the beach, cooking, and camping. But spending time with her family is definitely her favorite thing to do.

Hannah, Dental Hygienist
Hannah joined Taschner Periodontics in 2022 as a dental hygienist from general dentistry. She is a graduate of Delta College in Saginaw, MI and has been a dental hygienist since 2021.
Prior to becoming a dental hygienist, Hannah’s love for dentistry began as a front desk receptionist for a private dental office in Michigan during college. Now as a hygienist, Hannah enjoys being able to make a hands on difference for patients and their oral health. Creating trustful bonds with her patients and making them comfortable during thorough cleaning procedures are a priority of hers.
Outside of work, Hannah enjoys traveling, camping, visiting National Parks, and spending time with family in Northern Michigan.
She lives in Estero with her husband Karl.
Debra, Dental Hygienist
Debra joined Taschner Periodontics in early 2002 after an education Dental Hygiene Career with a passion for learning and serving the dental needs of all ages.
Debra started working as a School Dental Hygienist in the Finger Lakes area of New York State with a research project by Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, NY. When the successful research was completed, Debra moved to Geneseo, NY, to continue working with EDC in Rochester. After 15 years of working with general and special needs students from preschool through high school. Along with community dental health research, working with post-graduate dental school residents, in the car, training, and of the management of children and adults of all ages and developmental abilities.
When Debra, and her husband Chuck, moved to SW Florida in 1994, she was honored to find a terrific dental team and Board-Certified Prosthodontic Practice with similar education and care of patients. Needing to move from Naples to North Fort Myers in 2021 to be near her parents, Debra knew the only Practice to work with would be Taschner Periodontics.
Thrilled to find a part-time position and a new dental home. Life came full circle as she came to be an RDH on the advisory board to the developing Dental Hygiene Program at Edison College. Also, Dr. Taschner and other periodontists in SW FL were leading program development as SW Florida greatly needed Licensed Registered Dental Hygienists.
With enthusiasm and need, many local Dental Hygienists supported the new dental hygiene program for many years. With this leadership in hygiene, Debra became President of the Florida Dental Hygiene Association in 2002, finding many passionate and knowledgeable peers in the beautiful state of Florida!
Debra enjoys bicycling, kayaking, running, walking, yoga, and Tai Chi when not thinking about dentistry. Along with her husband Chuck, she enjoys gardening and walking our 11-year-old German Sheppard.

Michee, Certified Dental Assistant
Growing up in Naples, Michee is a long-time Florida resident. She completed her education at Lorenzo Walker Technical College, where she earned her EFDA. Michee is excited about returning to school to work on her goal of becoming a Dental Hygienist.
Michee finds joy in helping others and works as a Home Health Aid on the weekends. In her spare time, she enjoys; hanging out with friends and family, being outdoors, and working out!
